By submitting Postings to the Site, you grant us and our affiliates the right to use, copy, display, perform, distribute (through multiple tiers of distributors), adapt, translate, edit, and promote your Postings in any medium and any manner we choose, and to use your display name to attribute your Postings to you if we so choose.

I'm with G. I want TOS that state that posts will not be taken out of this forum and WILL NOT be used in any other way and that doing so will result in the removal of the individual who does so from this forum. Now, does this give us any absolute assurance of privacy, HA, no. But it does give us recourse if someone here takes our posts and moves them to another fourm/website, etc.

I want TOS that DOES NOT give EH the rights to use my posts in ANY way other than to be a part of the conversation here for educational and entertainment purposes of the members of this forum. I do not want them to have the ability to compile and distribute or redistribute my posts through ANY tiers or means. What I put here, stays here, and is for the COMMUNITY OF DOULAS here, and here only.

I'll explain why. If my posts are here, and only here, and EH can not use them in any other way, then I can reasonably argue to anyone outside of this forum that finds my posts that I am posting in a professional forum as a professional in order to learn, educate and give and receive support. If my posts are moved by another member I have a defense that I was posting in a professional forum and another user violated the TOS by posting my posts outside of said forum, it should have never been done. If EH moves my posts and uses them for their own promotion or gain then I can't argue that they're breaking confidence, the rules of the forums, etc. It can lead to a situation where maybe I have a difficult birth, I remove identifying details but the client searches for a similar situation and comes across that post on EH where it's promoting EH and the client feels USED by her story being used as a marketing ploy.

There's a fundamental difference between agreeing to let it all out there, and having a community that respects our individual rights to post what we want and cares about maintaining each others trust vs a company who wants to use our posts for their own promotion and gain, anytime anyplace.

As Georgeanne has stated, the TOS have been revised. In the TOS EmpowHER states that they will not use your posts in any other forum without your permission.
